Capitals Minute for Thursday, January 17
Posted on January 17, 2013Goaltender Braden Holtby is poised to start between the pipes Saturday night in Tampa Bay, as the Capitals kick off a 48-game season against the Lightning. With a compact schedule, having two young but experienced netminders could ultimately prove to be a big advantage. Yet, after seven playoff victories and a series triumph over Boston, Holtby is likely to get first crack at holding down the number one spot.
Today's Capitals Minute talks to Holtby about getting ready for Saturday, and what this shortened training camp has been like this week. Washington will practice this morning at Kettler before heading downtown for an evening skate. Fans are invited to watch tonight’s skate at Verizon Center, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m.
