Flashback: Ovechkin the first to 30 goals, on a lamp-lighter in MontrealPosted on September 10, 2013 by John Walton
Thought it might be fun in the days leading up to the regular season opener in Chicago October 1 to look back at some of the biggest moments of last season here in D.C. To help get the juices flowing and the positive vibe started early for 2013-14, here's Alex Ovechkin potting his 30th goal of the season last April in Montreal. He was the first to 30 last year, and as it turned out, the only guy to reach that plateau in all the NHL. In the days to come, I'll throw a few more of these your way. On the list I have, a lot of them will be from the stretch run, as the Caps blew by Winnipeg to win a Southeast Division title.
From April 20th, Alex doing his thing late in a 5-1 win over the Habs, with goal number 30.
