Caps pound the Panthers 7-1 Thursday in most lopsided win of the year

Posted on March 07, 2013 by John Walton

The Capitals are one victory away from clawing all the way back to the .500 mark. After getting out of the blocks with just two wins in the first 11, Washington is now 10-11-1 after a 7-1 win over the Florida Panthers at Verizon Center.

The Caps head to Uniondale Saturday to face the Islanders for the first time this season. With a win at Nassau in the 1:00 p.m. Saturday start, the Caps can return home Sunday to face the Rangers with as many wins as losses. Washington has now won eight of its last 11 after Thursday's convincing win over the Cats.

Listen to the final moments of tonight's victory here. A fun night at Verizon Center for all involved, except the visitors from the Sunshine State. Hear Eric Fehr picking up another goal in the third period, as well as Mathieu Perreault's exclamation point at the end. The seven goals were the most scored by the Capitals this season.
