Chatting with Adam Oates: Game 2 up next for CapsPosted on May 04, 2013 by John Walton
The Capitals look to take a two games to none lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinals this afternoon, taking on the New York Rangers in Game 2. Washington found itself down a goal after one period Thursday night in Game 1, but rallied with three unanswered in the second period to take the early series advantage. Braden Holtby stopped 35 pucks to earn number one star honors Thursday night, and the Caps are hoping for more of the same from the goal crease out in the Saturday matinee.
My conversation with Adam Oates for today's pregame show is here, looking back at success in Game 1, Jason Chimera's success against the Rangers, and the dynamic duo of Jack Hillen and Steve Oleksy. Have a listen below, as the Caps and Rangers go head-to-head this afternoon. Today's game is carried locally and nationally on NBC Sports (NBC4 in Washington), with the only local call of the game on the radio side today. Our coverage, which can be heard on 106.7 The Fan, WFED-AM 1500, and many affiliates along the Capitals Radio Network, begins at 12:15. Puck drop is just after 12:30 from Verizon Center.
