Kyle Turris scored two goals, including an empty-netter with time running out Thursday, as the Ottawa Senators posted a 3-1 win over the Capitals at Scotiabank Place. The loss snapped Washington's eight-game winning streak, and enabled the Winnipeg Jets to pull within two points of first place in the Southeast Division. Both the Capitals and Jets have four games remaining in the regular season, including a head-to-head matchup Tuesday at Verizon Center. Winnipeg and Washington are off Friday, with both teams returning to action Saturday. The Jets are at home to face the New York Islanders in a 3:00 p.m. start, while the Capitals will face Montreal at 7:00 at the Bell Centre. Saturday's game marks the final road game on the schedule for the Caps.

Here is today's Capitals Minute, looking back at a tough night in Ottawa, and a look ahead to the rest of the regular season. Center Nicklas Backstrom missed the final seven plus minutes of the third period Thursday with an upper-body injury. More on his status may be known today, as Washington holds a practice in Montreal at 1:00 p.m.
