Your Capitals Minute for Friday, March 8

Posted on March 08, 2013 by John Walton

Washington scored four times in the first 8:10 of the first period Thursday night, and never looked back in a 7-1 win over the Florida Panthers at Verizon Center. Coupled with a Carolina regulation loss at home Thursday night to Montreal, the Capitals are six points behind the first place Hurricanes with a game in hand. The Caps will also face Carolina twice next week in head-to-head competition.

Here is your Capitals Minute for Friday. The Capitals will practice at Kettler Capitals IcePlex this morning, flying to Uniondale this afternoon in preparation for Saturday's game with the Islanders. Airtime on 106.7 The Fan and the Capitals Radio Network is at 12:45 p.m., with a 1:00 puck drop.
