It was quite a night at Verizon Center Tuesday, as the Capitals completed a run to the 2012-13 Southeast Division championship by defeating the Winnipeg Jets 5-3. The win wrapped up the third seed in the Eastern Conference and home ice in the first round of the 2013 Stanley Cup playoffs, which will begin next week. Alex Ovechkin scored an empty-net goal in the closing seconds, and Matt Hendricks was named the game's number one star. The schedule for Washington's Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series will be announced by the NHL when all match-ups are determined.
